Wilfried Nancy declared he was not afraid of dismissal, asserting, “I believe we are very near to a turnaround,” in the wake of moving dangerously close to the exit with a convincing setback against their arch-rivals.

Another Collapse Leads to Old Firm Defeat

The home side were ahead their oldest rivals at half-time but a second-half capitulation allowed Rangers to move level on points with the current league title holders. Nancy, who was hired from the MLS, has now presided over six setbacks in his first eight matches.

Nancy’s Persistent Belief

“The performance we had at stages was of top quality. That happened. I wouldn't speak so positively if it was not the case. But that’s why, in terms of results, I noted this is the same story. That’s why I said that a change is coming to getting it right. Currently: the fine margins.”

“We produced many, many good things that we did, like today again. The issue now it’s about consistency. My message would not be if it was not the case. This is why I am a big believer we’re going to be able to get back on track.”

Opposition Reaction Stance

Rangers manager played down talk of a serious challenge in spite of what appeared to be a huge result. “Step by step, and we can gradually build momentum,” he said. “The confidence in the group is outstanding.”
