It's a challenge for the Australian squad to achieve unprecedented feats.

The highest peaks have already been conquered.

We're talking about the unit that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to an additional six T20 titles, and once went over three years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, those for the achievement hunters, are the only things left for a squad that has accomplished all there is.

That it took as late as Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase exceeding 300, taking back their record for the largest in the women's 50-over format, is, in truth, a tribute to the pitchers that have represented Australia over the last half-century.

It's difficult for their batters to maintain a record if not provided the opportunity.

In the end, the outcome of Australia conceding 330 was captain Alyssa Healy being given an opportunity to produce her latest masterpiece.

Initially recognized as the young family member of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after her nation couldn't capture either of the T20 or ODI World Cups conducted earlier and has experienced everything through 15 championship-filled years since.

A T20 World Cup win arrived three months after her first appearance and seven world titles have followed from 10 tries across formats.

The determined wicketkeeper was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India momentarily interrupted the winning streak.

That loss "motivated us to rethink our standards," Healy said this week.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the final and was named player of the tournament. She made sure her country would not come up short.

The question of whether this recent magnificent innings exceeded that prior achievement can be debated.

Many contend the argument supporting the pressure of a final. Some might respond with the test that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What's clear is this hundred was considerably tougher to predict.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 occurred when she was the highest scorer, but this performance followed six innings in India since the start of last month in which she had failed to pass 30.

"If you've observed me in training, it has been a disappointing period because I feel like I lacked timing at all," said Healy.

"However when you take the field, your competitive nature activate and you just lock into the match."

Healy's competitiveness has continuously been her key asset - and a priceless quality in replacing legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, dismissed by the 22-year-old seamer in all three matches, but here that only provided Healy's spark.

A single came off the bowler's initial ball and from there Healy was on her way.

"A chance to go out there and face the challenge with her and merely enjoy the moment in that aspect, sort of got me going," stated Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 balls - her quickest at the World Cup - and her hundred in 84 deliveries while she flogged anything short, striking 21 boundaries and three maximums.

Once she was out Australia needed 66 more at run per delivery - a manageable total now demanding an easy conclusion.

"Pursuing 330 is uncharted waters so I am glad we have the assurance to achieve that now," stated Healy further.

"Ideally we won't need to repeat it but, should it happen, we know we can succeed."

These statements will be the last competing nations at this World Cup need to hear.

During the last week a sense they will triumph from any situation has only strengthened - this triumph following victory over Pakistan by 107 runs despite sitting at 76-7 at one point.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before an encounter with traditional opponents England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final berth may well be secure.

During that phase they left the prior year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a game Healy couldn't play because of damaged tissue in her foot as she led her country for the first time at a major tournament.

Such is her determination, she subsequently stated she regretted not playing with the discomfort.

However although she later admitted those fitness problems have delayed consideration of ending her career, this World Cup is expected to be her final tournament as skipper in ODI cricket and she is still to achieve a global event as skipper.

Success in India would take her to the summit of her final mountain.
