Devoted fans of Ariana Grande are calling for that a man who breached a fence and grabbed the performer during the recent Wicked: For Good premiere be detained or deported from Singapore.

A circulating footage reveals the person identified as Johnson Wen bypassing photographers and lunging at Grande while the cast proceeded down a yellow carpet accompanied by fans.

Cast member Cynthia Erivo quickly guided the stunned performer away from Mr Wen, who was seen being escorted out of the premiere by event staff.

Mr Wen shared on Instagram recently that he was "free after being arrested", though official papers showed that he was set to attend court on the following morning. It is uncertain if he was formally accused.

Pattern of Incidents

This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who describes himself as a "Troll Most Hated", has disrupted a celebrity gathering. His Instagram profile contains clips of him disrupting other star-studded functions, including jumping on stage at the artist's Sydney concert in earlier this year and in a comparable manner during The Chainsmokers performance in the same location last year.

"Measures must be taken applied against him as this is obviously a punishable act," wrote an Instagram follower, in a message to a video Mr Wen uploaded of his actions.

"Oh wow so you do this a lot... how aren't you in jail?" a different Instagram user questioned.

Supporters Voice Worry Over the Star's Safety

Numerous fans criticized Mr Wen for "causing further distress" Grande, who had spoken of dealing with trauma-related anxiety after a terrorist explosion at the conclusion of her 2017 concert in Manchester, resulting in the death of 22 people and harming many.

"After everything she's faced... including the Manchester attack, you considered it entertaining to rush the barrier?" wrote a further message on Instagram.

A number of supporters also questioned guards at the gathering for not being adequately prepared; while others demanded digital services to remove Mr Wen's videos.

Response and Event Details

In clips circulating online, Grande appeared shocked when she was approached by the man. Her co-stars Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be spotted consoling her while Mr Wen was removed by guards.

Grande has not issued a statement on the event, and the rest of the event carried on uninterrupted.

Many of fans had gathered in a crowd of emerald and rose at the Wicked: For Good international premiere in a Singapore mall, including a number who had waited for as long as eight hours before it began.

The film, to be released on 21 November, is the sequel of a two-film version of the acclaimed Broadway and West End show Wicked, which focuses on the unexpected relationship between two contrasting characters.

The production itself is a adaptation of the twentieth-century story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who acts as the good witch Glinda, was decked out in a rosé glittering gown at the gathering while Erivo, who portrays the villainous character, wore a elegant ensemble decorated with roses.

They were alongside co-star Jeff Goldblum.

The initial film, Wicked, was the top-earning film of last year in the UK, and scored 10 award recognitions, winning several for excellent wardrobe and artistic direction.
