New Details Surface About the Finding of Rob and Michele Singer Reiner's Bodies

Recent details have emerged about the tragic passing of acclaimed film director Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were found at their Brentwood, Los Angeles residence on Sunday.

The Initial Report

As detailed in an account citing a confidential source, a therapist scheduled for an appointment initially became concerned after being unable to gain access the home. The practitioner then got in touch with the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives close by.

When she went into the home, Romy came upon her father's body. Reports state she then left the home distraught, unaware at that moment that her mother's body was also present. Her roommate who had gone with her then dialed 911. Following this, paramedics located Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Legal Charges

Authorities have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of first-degree murder, along with the use of a dangerous weapon, said to be a knife. He is currently in custody without bail.

Disputed Reports

The anonymous source questioned several earlier details. It was stated that while Romy Reiner informed emergency responders that her brother Nick resided in a separate structure on the grounds, she did not name him as a potential suspect at that time.

Additionally pushed back against published claims that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been unusually "worried" about Nick's conduct in the preceding period. The source claimed the family was "used to working through [Nick's] problems together."

This correction also extends to accounts of alleged "unpredictable" behavior by Nick at a gathering held by Conan O'Brien on the night before the discovery. Although the source noted they were unable to confirm whether Rob had "chastised" his son at the party, they said that claims of a "major confrontation" between the two were untrue.

Investigation Details

As stated by law enforcement sources, the coroner had not yet established at that point whether the Reiners died late on Saturday or on Sunday. Preliminary media reports noted the state of their bodies implied they had been dead for some hours.

Nick Reiner was taken into custody at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park, roughly 15 miles from the scene. He was scheduled to have a hearing on Tuesday, but his attorney, Alan Jackson, stated his client had not received medical clearance and would not appear until no sooner than Wednesday.
